Dream a little Dream
It’s the end of one year and the beginning of a new one. People will be making New Years resolutions and starting new diets and exercise routines. I won’t. New Year’s resolutions are something of the past for me personally. Not to say I don’t have goals or new dreams for my life, but they are things I have already put in place.
A couple of movies come to mind with the title of this blog, remember the guy walking down the street in the movie Pretty woman, saying “What’s your dream?” and Tangled, “I’ve gotta dream…sing along with the guys in the pub”. So yes, what’s your dream?”
When I’m talking about dreams, I am not talking about when we close our eyes and go to sleep, but about what is in your heart of hearts. God’s dreams for you that He placed there. Like writing and finishing a book, and it could even be a health journey, how about a new career or relationship, it might even be starting a business, or something even bigger like coming up with the cure for cancer.
Don’t discredit your dreams because most likely you didn’t come up with them all by yourself. Remember that your creator knows you better than you know yourself and He put ideas and dreams inside of you just especially for you.
Sometimes we have dreams and don’t know where to begin. My first suggestion is to share it with someone you trust with your heart. Let them encourage you into the steps of making them a reality. Secondly, get a plan of action and set a starting and finishing date. Then GO FOR IT!
Is there a chance for failure, yes, but there is also a chance of success. There are many successes that come from failure, take Walt Disney for one example. he got turned away many times because they said he had no imagination. There are many others but you’ll have to look those up for yourselves. The only time we really fail is when we quit. Can you imagine if Walt Disney quit?
There can be some discouragement and possibly rejection along the way but don’t let it stop you! Unfortunately, I have done that with a few things in my life, and I say NO MORE! Who’s with me?
We will never know unless we try, right? I think the world is waiting for us to stop being afraid and just do it.
I am ready for some new creative ideas aren’t you? Do we REALLY need another remake of old movies? I I I believe there is so much creativity out there just waiting to happen. What if there are scripts being written in a notebook sitting on someone’s shelf or songs on a napkin, or even poetry on a file in someone’s computer? The world is waiting for us to inspire, excite, or even stimulate more creativity.
So, how about we jump into the deep end together and dream, dream BIG and help each other swim to success, and if you need floaties, it’s ok!
There is a verse that says, “with GOD all things are possible”, I think we can take that to the bank not only spiritually but also physically, cha ching, LETS DO IT!
